It doesn’t host many events, there’s no gift shop, and no one’s posted a selfie from there (yet). But it’s peaceful, permanent, and proudly part of the village’s history.

Situated just far enough from Main Street to feel appropriately solemn, Body Cemetery offers a panoramic view of cornfields and eternity. It’s a short drive, a long pause, and a gentle reminder that not much in Woodland moves quickly — including the residents here.
You won’t find fancy gates or marble statues, but you will find generations of names you’ve probably heard at least once at the post office.

Body Cemetery isn’t flashy, but it doesn’t need to be. It’s well cared for, quietly dignified, and home to many of Woodland’s original residents. And by “original,” we mean “their great-grandkids are still around, running the chili cook-off.”
